.
The Beginning:
A group of cycling enthusiast and tea lover decides to reestablish the route of “Journey through Tea” by reenact how the ancient caravan of tea operated, and the secret of how the tea leafs fermented and aged through the long journey.
“A Journey through Tea” is slightly different from the original “Ancient Tea-Horse Road”, the new route will lead Southward, begins from Kunming, China, the original “Ancient Tea-Horse Road” starting point, to Laos, Thailand, and ended in Malaysia.
The ancient caravan is like the trade representative today, and “A Journey through Tea” is aimed to act as the trade representative to provide commercial opportunity to the commercial entities in South East Asia.
“A Journey through Tea” will imitate the ancient Caravan’s method to ship tea leaves, but instead of using horses, the team will use the modern “horse”, the bicycle to peddle through China, Laos, Thailand, and Malaysia, to experience the majestic landscape, and to challenge the participants’ endurance.
Along the journey, the bicycle team will visit the villages of the hill tribes, tracing back the route that the ancient caravan had treaded, and to seek the lost art of tea.
Upon the completion of the “A Journey through Tea”, we hope to mark a new page onto the history of “Ancient Tea-Horse Road”.
